Context
Zuzu's Petals opened up for Fifth Column. Azar was all about Mahler. This is Robert Powell in a still from the film about Mahler written and directed by Ken Russell.
Medical Science Auditorium on the University of Toronto campus.
Context
NATO had been engaging in low level flight testing near the Goose Bay Airport in Labrador. David Nuke and Bart Jack were in Toronto to speak about their objection to military activities on their territory.
This billboard was up for about 9 months. It was part of a series of anti-gentrification paintings mocking legal commercial billboards. The text reads: "Over 20,000 people in Toronto HOMELESS. T.M. The trademark of this city's development into a disneyland of cleanliness and eviction."
This was up for about 2 months. I might have painted it but it was designed with women from the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre and installed by a men's action collective. We put up this hand painted billboard on 2 different buildings in Toronto. We had no permission, but just put up safety cones and scaffolding, no problem.
