Dr. Kin Yip Chun, a University of Toronto researcher, was wrongfully denied a tenure-track position after serving for ten years in the Department of Physics. Despite a track record of significant achievements including over 26 publications in scientific journals and over 1.4 million dollars in research funding, Dr. Chun was passed over for tenure, was denied the opportunity to apply for further grant funding, and had his lab shut down before being evicted by campus police on only three-hours notice. After a protracted struggle, Dr. Chun was recognized by the University with an appointment to Assistant Professor.
The Dr. Chun Resource Library "exists as a space for community members and University of Toronto students to access factual, critical, and alternative materials that facilitate resistance to oppression among and between diverse communities".

OPIRG Provincial had established a York Campaign to set up a new chapter at York University. Despite the high level of support and donations, their plan to submit a referendum proposal to York's Board of Referendum Commissioners in February 1990 was deemed to be futile due to rising student fees, lack of support from York administration, and the inability to create a large base of student support at the time. The resulting decision was to create and Expansion Fund and continue their efforts to create a York chapter at a future time.

"The Red Head Gallery was established in 1990 and is Toronto’s most enduring collectively run art gallery. It has stood the test of time as an exhibition space as well as a collective where critically engaged, highly productive artists enjoy curatorial control over the presentation of their work. Over the past two decades more than 100 artists have been part of The Red Head Gallery and have produced over 200 exhibitions.” From redheadgallery.org
In interviews supported by archival film and photography, Red Head Gallery founders Sandra Rechico, Gene Threndyle, Sandra Gregson, Janice Carbert, Caroline Birks and David Sylvestre tell the story of how the collective was formed. The artists also discuss the Red Head’s distinctive and often irreverent marketing campaigns for the gallery where artists created hand-printed magalogues to promote upcoming shows. In a short coda to this documentary, we visit The Red Head’s 25 Anniversary exhibition at 401 Richmond where the current roster of artists reinterpreted the original collective’s portfolio of prints.

The police cars were yellow in 1988. The billboard had fliers for people to tear off and read about the cases. The fliers were added daily for months. It came down just before Michael Wade Lawson was killed on Dec 8, 1988.
