Context
This was the first time I'd seen Crime Wave and I raved about it to friends for weeks. Most people loved it but I had at least 2 friends who just didn't get it and thought I was nuts for likeing it. I probably was, but one of them married me so I guess it worked out. I also remember seeing Warhol's Chelsea Girls and Warhol associate Barbara Rubin's Christmas on Earth in the Rivoli back room.
I'm not sure who organized this screening. It was possibly connected with Marc Glassman of the late lamented Queen street book store Pages but I'm not positive.
